Most ladies, looking for unique and stylish laptop bags, are using a normal purse for their laptops. The one major drawback is (normally) the durability of the purse. It does not always last very long …as it is not made for heavy duty work, like carrying a laptop.
Luckily there are plenty of fashionable ladies laptop bags to choose from today. They double as a purse …and you are guaranteed to find something that meets your style and personality.
A laptop bag is not just about carrying your laptop safely around, but it also says something about you.
Here are few useful tips when looking at ladies laptop bags:
- An obvious one …but still important to mention, is to get to know the various laptop bag styles available to you.
- When looking at ladies laptop bags …consider the main use. Will you be traveling a lot? Is it functional and does it match your personal taste?
- Size matters -> Make sure your laptop fits the laptop bag.
- Look at laptop bags with enough space for all your accessories and offer quick access pockets for your phone, documents, tickets, etc…
- For added peace of mind, get a water resistant bag. It will come in handy for the times you do find yourself outside in the rain.
- Something that gets overlooked most of the time is the weight of the laptop bag. Choose wisely and make sure the bag does not weigh more than your laptop.
- Lastly …see your laptop bag as an investment. Make sure you are happy with the laptop bag’s warranty.
Best of all, which I absolute love, is the ladies laptop bags available today do not look anything like laptop bags. This is great from a safety point of view. No more “advertising” to the world when carrying your laptop around…
…And as an added bonus, they serve a dual purpose. It is a purse too.

Ok, so it is sometimes good to feature other type of laptop bags that does not fit under the ladies laptop bags category.
I loved the review on this new Mobile Edge Ultraportable Backpack. If you are looking for a functional bag to carry your mini netbook, then I believe this bags is perfect.
This is not the prettiest laptop bag that you will find, but it is very practical and will a do a good job. Do keep in mind that this bag is not check-point friendly. You will still need to take your laptop out of the bag.
Your laptop has a special compartment for storage and there is a separate bag for all your other things.
The Mobile Edge Ultraportable Backpack makes for a great bag on weekends when you want to take your netbook to your local Starbucks.

I was very surprised the other day to see just how little variety of laptop bags there are in retail stores. I could not even find decent rolling laptop bags. There were only your plain old boring laptop bags available.
Ok, so enough complaining …This post is all about looking at rolling laptop bags.
So why would consider a rolling laptop bag?
I mean …there are many different types of laptop bags to choose from – From a tote, shoulder bag, messenger bags and many more.
I personally think that rolling laptop bags are not for everyone. You need to be absolutely sure you are going to use the bag for its intended purpose. They are heavier and a bit more bulkier then your normal laptop bag. So you really don’t want to carry unnecessary weight around.
Rolling laptop bags are perfect for traveling, especially if you find yourself spending most of your time at airports. These bags are great if you need to carry a lot of things with you. They have ample amount of space and handles extra weight, beautifully.
You need to make sure the bag has good quality wheels and a retractable handle. They must be long lasting and capable of handling extra weight. A useful tip is to go for a bag with an aluminum handle. They are a bit pricier, but lighter in weight and more durable.
If you have a 17 inch laptop, you will find you really need to shop around for a proper 17” laptop bag. Not all stores stock them.
(This is why I still prefer shopping online. It is so much easier.)
Anyway …if you have a 17” laptop I would seriously consider looking at rolling laptop bags as an option. You will not have to worry about carrying extra weight around. Your shoulders and hands will be grateful too.
If a rolling laptop bag is not your thing, then I will opt for a laptop backpack. These bags are great for handling bigger laptops (like your 17″ laptop) and some extra weight. You will be happy with the wide selection of styles and designs they come in. There are some stunning bags on the market!
One of my favourite rolling laptop bags are the McKlein W Series Willowbrook Leather Detachable Ladies’ Case. (Wow …that was a mouthful). It is stylish, highly fashionable, and functional bag. The detachable wheel and handle system is very fancy. You can simply remove the wheels and handle, if you get tired of the rolling bag and use it as a shoulder bag. The different colors available makes it so much more fun to shop for this bag.

Ok, so I guess this is not like any of your typical ladies laptop bags. I am not even sure if we can classify this bag as one?
But …sometimes a lady has to go for function rather than fashion.
This Lowerpro is a great steal and serves well as a ”second” laptop bag. It is perfect for when you are out and about …like on the sports field or just
enjoying the outdoors.
Just you and your laptop… (Oh, I am sounding like such a chic-geek right now.)
The bag is water-resistant and the outer fabric will protect your laptop against moisture and abrasion.
You will be happy with the padding of the laptop. It is extremely well padded. The straps fit so well it feels custom made.
Surprisingly the bag looks and feels like a top quality made pack too.
The laptop goes in its own section and fits nice and tight. Your laptop won’t slide around and the section zips at the top.
The Lowerpro can carry a decent weight and is perfectly made for your 15″ laptop.
Don’t go and jam too much heavy stuff in your laptop bag. The bag is strong, but it is not made for carrying around heavy stuff.
(Who wants to be carrying around a heavy bag anyway?)
Look under the flap and you will see a well organized area with room for your pens and iPod. There is even a zipper for change.
This is one *cool* backpack …or shall we call it one of the ladies laptop bags.

Wow! This is really a cute laptop bag. You can fit a lot in this bag …even a 17″ MacBook Pro. The Kailo makes for a nice career bag and the perfect two-in-one bag.
If you haven’t noticed the pattern yet, I make it a point to post my finds on cute, fashionable laptop bags for women every Monday. I’m calling it, “Laptop Bag Mondays!” Yay, how original, haha. A leather laptop backpack is a great option if you are looking for a laptop bag made of leather. It is a classic and just like a good wine, something that gets better overtime.

- Can the bag be locked? This is very nifty when you travel a lot. You do want the peace of mind knowing it is not easy for someone to get to your laptop.
- Consider the weight of the bag, as previously mentioned. Although leather bags are normally heavy …try to get the lightest bag possible.
- Get a leather laptop backpack that has easy accessible outside pockets …and you must be able to lock them. The outside pockets are great for storing your accessories, like keys, cell phone, makeup kit and money.
- Choose a bag with a good warranty. You good support from the manufacturer in the very rare case your bag gets a puncture or tear. It can be very expensive to fix a leather bag. Most quality leather laptop bags come with a 10 year or more type of warranty.
Well these are just a few tips you need to keep in mind when looking to get a leather laptop backpack. Remember there are plenty of styles and designs to choose from. Get one you will be happy with for years to come and invest in quality.

This ladies laptop bag is professional looking for the business environment. It is well padded and comfortable to wear.
Komen version adds a feminine touch and is a great way to support the breast cancer cause in a subtle way. Some have complained about the need to open the top flap to get to pockets that hold personal items. I love it because it adds additional security and the laptop slot that sits behind the front flap has double zipper which can hold a luggage lock for additional security.
The bag is surprisingly large. You can fit your 15″ laptop and several files inside easily. Some ladies use this bag with their 17″ laptop without any issues.
It has slots for your PDA or cell phone, and your purse. It is very comfortable to carry.
Be prepared to get multiple compliments for this great laptop bag.
The only downside that I can see is having to open/close the flap each time you want your phone or PDA while traveling.
